Backing Up Garmin Bluechart G2 SD Cards?

Does anybody know if there is a way to back up a Garmin Bluechart G2 SD card? I purchased one for the eastern Caribbean and would like to have a backup on hand in case anything happenned...

I copied the folders to another SD card, and that at least worked on homeport. However, when I tried to put the card back into my 4208 it said that it couldn't unlock the maps. Garmin says you can't copy the cards but I am guessing someone has figured it out. They also didn't say you could make a copy for homeport but that at least worked easily.
