Anchoring in Nantucket

In recent years, the traditional anchorage in Nantucket has been overtaken by moorings - and these days they are looking for people to stay 2 nights minimum at very high prices...

Does anyone know of any restrictions to anchoring north east of the main harbor - between Coatue and Abrams Point?

Thanks!

Last I heard (and this was 3 or 4 years ago), the rule was "no boats over 30 feet may anchor east of First Point."

You can probably email the harbormaster for clarification.

Moorings are $70/night. If you have to ask, you can't afford Nantucket.

Do you know the size of boat they can accommodate? Seen big ones on the moorings, but $70 for our 50' sloop isn't actually that bad

Re: Anchoring in Nantucket

I think 50' would be more than $70. 2 Nights minimum, book in advance, non refundable.

(They're really really friendly over there!!!)
