AIS

Is anyone using AIS onboard their boat? Curious as to how this is set up and how it works. I have seen hardware tied into a laptop but not sure how feasible this is or how well it works. Any help would be great. I have a 26 catalina and sail matagorda bay in south texas where there is minimum ship traffic.

There are several threads on this forum with info on AIS. A quick search will get you lots of stuff.
