It looks like you can back it out if it gets stuck due to the way the line attaches

I've seen dozens of designs like that. It's a knock off of the old Benson anchors. Yes the ring that the rode is attached to is designed to slide forward and pull the anchor out backward. Danforh makes one that is a little more elagant and better made that does the same thing. Manson also has a slot in it designed to do the same thing.

I also have a much larger Danforth.
I kind of like if you can back it out without it getting stuck.

In a wind shift, you may have a self-extracting anchor.

IMHO that anchor might be suitable for a fishing skiff where you are watching what is happening the whole time. Not a suitable anchor for a cruising boat.

Naw... did not notice the 'Made in China' stamp...



Seriously, they are good 'lunch hooks' I had one that I used on a river for a while. I would not want to sleep on one, they are pretty lightly made and a wind shift (as earlier posters said) could easily 'activate' the retrieval mode without notice.
