The Anchor

If you pop over to the Photo Gallery, you will (hopefully) see my anchor. I used SST scraps I had and it cost me nothing but my time I had on some rainy days. I still have a little more work to do on it, but it is fine for testing at the mo. But when I get some more SST, I want to increase the thickness of the shank.

Yeah I would reinforce the bent tubing at the back. And on the shank for sure. You're putting you trust into this SST anchor.

The tubing at the back is fine. It is nothing more than a roll batr and if it did ever get hooked on something upside down, you want it to bend or you are going to go to sleep thinking your anchor has set.
As for the shank, it's actually very thick and very strong. But if the anchor is well buried and the boat swings in a tide or wind change, then a lot of sideways pull comes on the shank till the anchor has been turned. I have one week possible week point in the shank where all the bending force is "seen" and I want to beef that point up a little more. Nothing major.
The thing is so darn shiney, it looks terrible in the Photo's. But actually it is better than the Photo's suggest.

Alan. Photographing shiny metal surfaces outside in the sunlight, can make it tricky. And can, will make the photos a bit off. Depending on the angle of the sun. Or sky conditions.

Nah not the camera, it's a real expensive good one. It'll be the dude behind the camera

Nice work Wheels. Great option for those who can weld. I, however, can not. In fact, as bad as the sealions are around here, if I welded a dock together and loaded it with all the fish it could hold (mabe a couple of bait fish), even the sealions wouldn't climb on it
