Speechless

Just had a boat anchored here and it has spent 3 days dragging all over the place !
Saw the guy come to the pier so went and asked him why he dragged so much.
" Don't want to get my chain dirty in the mud" was his reply... I despair.....
We have been hit by 2 boats dragging so far so I am not very amused. These are normally charter boats with little experience so I would expect a live-aboard to be a bit more awake.

Re: Speechless

The person must have been joking.

Maybe holding is just poor.

Re: Speechless

I got new chain last year. I think it cost $1,000,000 ... or felt like it. Anyway it was all so nice and shiny. I didn't want to get it wet.
Finally I did (after driving round the anchorage for an hour). Next day it wern't no shiny no more

I was so sad.

Heartbreaking. I felt the same when I had our chain regalvanised. It looked so pretty all coiled up in the locker.

Shiny and chrome! (Fury road quote.)

I feel your pain. You can go from blissful relaxation to anxious concern when a bad neighbor moves in to a nice little cove...upwind... especially on a windy evening.

Re: Speechless

with that kind of reasoning you should be able to do all kind of stuff with his boat, so he does not send parts of your boat "into the mud"

just sayin
