For what it's worth, I own a Spade and I'm extremely happy with it. The thing has always set and we've yet to drag and we do a lot of
anchoring out up and down the
East Coast and
Bahamas.
To make it even better, these guys have one of the best customer
service departments I have experienced. A couple of background stories...When we first bought our
Lagoon 410 it came equipped with a Spade anchor. Unbeknown to us, ( I should have checked), it was undersized for our
boat and we drug anchor. When I relayed this story to the Spade folks at the
boat show">Miami Boat Show, they immediately told me to bring the anchor in to them and they would buy it back and sell me a new one at a discount! How cool is that? Since I couldn't be anchored and bring the anchor to them they made arrangements to meet us at a marina for the exchange. We have never drug since then.
Second story concerning their customer
service. Though a fault all my own, I managed to bend the shank on the new anchor a couple of years later. I called Spade to
price out a new shank. They told me, no worries, they would replace it at no cost! This included
shipping both ways. How much more can you ask of customer service? The new shank arrived in a week and I was back in business.
No compensation here, I just believe good products and good service need to be shouted out.
