Southpacific winch servicing advice sought

I bought a second hand Southpacific electric winch [Mighty 900] (Australia) and am wondering if any one on this forum knows how to service them. In particular, there is an oil seal I can see on the main shaft after taking the gypsy off and I am not sure how to take that out without damaging it. I assume it has to come out to oil/grease the bearings behind it. On the other side of the winch on same shaft there is a seal which covers a bush bearing and it is easy to remove so that one is not a problem.

So, any tips for oiling it?

cheers

Louis

Yup, contacted their tech department. I was told the winch does not need maintenance apart from a little cleaning.

Quoting the manual: "The windlasses come with a grease lubricated gear box. There is no need for extra lubrication."

That surprises me.
