Rode Length and Anchoring Depth

We carried 200 feet of BBB and another 200 feet of rode on our primary on Sea trek for almost 20 years. We seldom had out more than 100 feet of chain and the rode seldom saw water. But, you need to have the room in the anchor locker. We have anchored in 50 feet in New Orleans and on the west coast, I have had to anchor in 75 feet even close in at Catalina Island off Avalon. During hurricane conditions, we have been through 12 hurricanes, we have had 300 feet out. Chuck
