Parts for Leroy Somer Anchor Windlass

Anybody know where I can get a circuit diagram, and parts for my Leroy Somer anchor windlass. This is fitted as standard equipment to my 2002 Beneteau 473 Oceanis.

I live in Sydney, Australia but the yacht is currently in Langkawi, Malaysia.

regards,
Tim O'Regan

Re: Parts for Leroy Somer Anchor Windlass

Hi Tim,
Did you get anywhere with this?

I have a Leroy Somer windlass on my 2003 Beneteau Oceanis 423 and am tying to establish whether I can still otain parts (eg different gypsy for alternative anchor chain size) for this model, or get recommendations for the correct anchor chain size for my current gypsy?
The only model number I can find is G 16011, on a sticker by the base, but I wasn't able to track this model down anywhere on the internet. My boat is currently in Singapore

Re: Parts for Leroy Somer Anchor Windlass

Hi there
I learnt that I couldn't get any parts for this Leroy Somer windlass.I spoke to Beneteau and they definitely said that these windlaases were only made specially for a set run of Beneteau yachts.

So no luck there as Leroy Sommer said they do not make these windlasses anymore.
HOWEVER they said that once I can give them a part description and an actual model number of the windlass then they will look in their spare parts store.

I haven't taken it apart yet.

Hope this helps,

Tim O'Regan

Re: Parts for Leroy Somer Anchor Windlass

We are also having issues with our Leroy Somer windlass on our Beneteau 473 and are currently in Martinique. It is the S601 and is slipping.

Thanks for the advice, have emailed Leroy Somer and awaiting a reply.

Perhaps we will need to get a new windlass!

Re: Parts for Leroy Somer Anchor Windlass

We have received a short reply from Leroy Somers - the parts are no longer made.

So our fix so far has been to file down the face of the cones to stop them touching. This gives us a few more months of use and works really well. Once this is no longer possible we will have to buy a new windlass!
