Moving to Vancouver Island . . . Any Good Anchorages ?

Hello everyone, I'm going to move out to Vancouver island in the spring coming up and I was wondering where some good spots to anchor for the night, weeks, months is?

Also I think eventually I would like the comforts of a marina, (easier on the girlfriend). I prefer the ones that look like they're falling apart but i'm easy. What are some good marinas in and around victoria the cheaper the better, but i would love to be right in the harbor and might be willing to sacrifice the $$$. also I will have a car there so I am able to commute. Any one know of cheap marinas within a 30-45 min drive to Victoria?
