KEEFE Anchor Windlass Parts

Hi,

I am in the process of rebuilding my KEEFE Series B Electric Horizontal, Anchor Windlass. Does anyone know of a source for parts? Since they are no longer in business I may be looking at a used unit to Cannibalize for parts.

This was new equipment on a late 70's 40'er.

Thanks, Greg

keefe anchor windlass

I saw your inquiry for parts needed for a Keefe anchor windlass. Though it's been quite some time since you posted, and you may have found a source or taken another path, I have a unit that I removed from a boat I bought a few months ago. It has a seized 120vac motor but all the other parts appear in salvageable condition.
If you are still looking for parts, pls contact me.

Keefe windlass

gnoynik, I was wondering if you still have you windlass and if you might have a manual to it. I just bought a Freya 39 which has a Keefe and would like to keep it on there. Thanks.

ebrown,
Yes I still have it but will be scrapping it soon. No, I don't have a manual on it.

What kind of condition is it in, other than the seized motor.

Looks in "decent " condition. Gypsy and sprocket are intact. Internals unknown as I don't have time , use nor interest in finding out. Gypsy head is 7" dia by 3" w, sprocket is 6" dia by 2" w. Looks like it uses 3/8 chain. Unit is 22"L x 24"W x 17" H.

Keefe windlass parts.

Balmar (the alternator people) purchased Keefe back in the late 80s. They still have a very limited number of parts for some of the Keefe windlasses. You might want to inquire. Great people to deal with.

Thank you very much for the info. That's the problem now a days when your dealing with old stuff is finding the parts. Its great, that forums like these can most of the time steer you in the right direction.
