Jordan Anckor rode?

So am connecting 107 cones to 275 feet of double braid to finish my Jordan Drogue.Sailrite kit.
And thinking this would make a kick ass Anckor rode for heavy swells or the oh **** storm you didn't see coming while at Anckor.
1.Can winch the cones/rode back in with the Anckor winch.
2.Thinking tugging of boat on anckor would be reduced by cones "inflating" with water.
3.Serves two purposes on the storage list.Off shore and anchored.
4.Is realy heavy duty......
The Masses Thoughts Please

The rubbing of the cones on the bottom will probably destroy the cones within hours, depending on the bottom. When it's time to use it off-shore, you won't be able to trust it.

I wouldn't even think about it.

Re: Jordan Anckor rode?

I would be afraid the cones may becomes an issue if I want to collect the rode and leave the anchorage in hurry.

Mark- if you have a good anchor & rode your not going to need the system of cones on your anchor rode-seems like an all around bad idea, ruin cones, cones get stuck on bottom & windlass , cones not working when you really need them because thay were stressed--If in an emergency and you need an extra rode then use it, but only as a last resort
