I don't know how Washington Chain Supply does that, but I had this done by ACCO themselves, -before- hot-dip galvanizing the chain incl. large end-links. Cost were around $75 per link in 2005.

I also bought a new gypsy at that time and believe price was around the $250 level so $275 now sounds like a great price.

ciao!
Nick.

Re: G70 Windlass

The gypsy is $275 because I have a wholesale account at Fisheries Supply in Seattle.

Acco told me they would not do a custom order with the end links as requested.

Re: G70 Windlass

Last year I bought a Lofrans Project 1500 windlass, which I am very pleased with. I used G4 chain with mine, but they are available with a gypsy that will fit 5/16.

Re: G70 Windlass

I received this email from West Marine:

I have contacted Maxewll, they have indicated the G70 will work for that application.. The test that was made using G70 ACCO chain which is the same G70 we sell.

I hope this information is useful, let me know if there are any questions or if I can be of further assistance.

A 5/16 HT chain wheel will work with 5/16 G70.

I shopped around and found that Wa Chain had the best prices in the Seattle area. I paid $2.35 for 5/16" DIN 766 galv. chain, a couple years ago.
