I recently installed a Lofrns tigres I had some questions about the wiring and called IMTRA the distributor they were very helpful. The person I spoke to specialized in the Lofrans line he recommended removing the ss bolts and applying tefgel to the threads to make dissasembly easier in the future.

I took it apart and actually posted a write-up of it on SN and AS. I found a piece of metal (origin unknown) jammed on the worm drive.

See this link: www.sailnet.com/forums/gear-maintenance/62385-took-windlass-apart-today-found-something-interesting-things.html

Fishspearit was right. Take it apart until I find somehting.

Brad

Here's the metal that was jammed in the gears.

No idea where it came from.

By the way, it also had a broken spring

I have some things to do before I put it all back together. By the way, the replacement spring was $30 plus shipping.

Regards,
Brad
