Re: Fortress anchor customers service

Service for a Fortress? What issues did you have with the anchor?

I had an FX-55 aboard as a storm anchor (only needed it 4 times)

Bought it used at Annapolis Used Boat Show in early 90s at half the new price
Wonderful anchor

Re: Fortress anchor customers service

We never received an email response either, so I (being impatient) called after 36 hours, and received excellent help. I suggest calling them

Once in a blue moon, a Fortress is placed in to a position of it being attached to an immovable object and subjected to an irresistible Force and something has to give.
Even though I believe most manufacturers would tell you that You broke it, nothing was wrong with the anchor, I have seen Fortress replace the bent pieces under warranty.

Re: Fortress anchor customers service

I have to say that Fortress customer service is the best of any marine product supplier with whom I've encountered to date.

Try calling them. Emails are hit or miss with a LOT of businesses.

Re: Fortress anchor customers service

I bent an fx-55 into a potato chip, bent flukes, when my Voyage ran down the rode and tripped the 25kg Danforth putting the full load on the tandem Fortress that saved the boat as she snapped two bridles and broke the windless mount.

Fortress replaced the parts, postage paid, no charge.

Sounds like a rough night at anchor, whats the story behind that?

Re: Fortress anchor customers service

Hurricane went over. Wind suddenly shifted causing Boat to run down the rode. I was 20 miles inshore, scared.
