Display your phone number

If you leave your boat please display our phone number in the cockpit.

I have just returned from 2 Amel 54 foot yachts. They both had dragged about 500m when i got to them and were dragging more rapidly as they got into deeper water. The owners of these two identical boats were away having a meal in town. Unfortunatly no keys or anchor winch power.
With the help of a German cruser from another yacht we let out all their anchor chain 100m (300 feet) on both boats. Which fortunately stopped their drag.

If you leave your boat. It's a good idea to at least display your phone number.
These yachts are worth are worth a million each it's a shame to see them end up on the beach or rocks.
If the boats continued to drag there would not have been much we could have done. I got our kedge anchor ready, but that would have saved only one at best.

We discussed the possibility of towing them if they continued to drag, but that would not have been easy.
