Delta 55 Pound Anchor

I like this anchor and lost one last year. I will replace it. However, I did see a very rugged looking knock off at 1/3 the cost. Just wondering if knock off's have been tested in comparison with the originals. the knock off appeared more heavily constructed than the Lewmar Delta but that is not proof that the metal is stronger. thanks....

Too bad you're not near Massachusetts. I have an excellent 55 in my basement. I upgraded to an 88 last year.

Its very hard to know the performance of a copy. The balance of an anchor is important and the more rugged construction is likely to effect this.
I would get the original.

I have a 25kg (55 pound) genuine Lewmar Delta which is surplus to requirements in case you are anywhere near the UK.

I replaced it with a much larger Rocna.

I don't know why you would want one of these when there has been such an advance in technology (Spade, Manson, Rocna, with Rocna under a cloud at the moment because of questions about type of steel used in them) in the intervening years. But if you really do want one, I'll let you have mine cheap.

Thanks for the anchor for sale offers. I am on Vancouver Island unfortunately. I have had Delta for a while with good results. ...good luck

West Marine pricing = 55# Delta @ $462 vs 55# Rocna @ $759. I personally don't see the value difference. My Delta has always held, including 60kt blows.
