ANCHORING - NEW ORLEANS

Hi does anyone know of anchoring opportunities in or close to New Orleans?

I don't know of any anchoring around new Orleans, mostly marinas around there. You can anchor in the lake, but not sure about how far you have to be and what the dinghy situation is either. I honestly haven't seen boats anchored out of the marina harbors when I have been over there for races or visiting the marinas.

I'm located across the lake in Slidell, and most boats anchor off the coastline for whatever reasons, overnight stay, etc.

The lake is unforgiving if a north wind is blowing while you are on the south shore. No good inlets exist. It is all Marina down this way.
