One symptom not listed: cigarettes taste unnaturally sweet. Also, the giving milk as a treatment doesn't work if it's inhaled.

Could you turn the anchor upside down while it is raised. I have seen many boats that do this, usually to keep the anchor from rubbing on the chain for a second anchor or to clear docking lines.
