Most manufacturers assume you want an anchor alarm centred on the current position. So the handbook lists instructions for this even if other options are possible.

What unit do you have Evans ?

I have GP 150, and can set a waypoint using the cursor, then use this waypoint as the reference for the anchor alarm.

It is correct that the manual does not explain this, it just states that the MOB/Event button is used to set a waypoint.

Similar to the GP 32, its either Anchor Alarm or Arrival alarm, but not both.
