Would a 3/4" rode work with that for my Cal 29?
(Yikes!)

Yeah I bet that would be bitch for snagging and hell to get up when it does. Not to mention the damage to the hull if it swung into it. THis reminds me of the old tall ship dfays of naval warfare. They harpooned the enemy ship so as it could be drawn along side to fight.

I would feel safe with that in hurricane force winds. I would not be using the line attached to it now or is that cable? It would be all heavy duty chain attached. My boat would be in a hurricane hole and I would not be on it. That is one heck of an anchor and I would not mind owning it as a lawn ornament until if ever needed. I think it would make a great mooring too. I would not want to keep it onboard.
