It is included with a microcruiser I am considering.
I know it almost surely is 5 hp two-cycle. I know that 102cc is the size of many 5hp Mercs. I know Sailpower means it has a longer shaft and is geared and propped to better push a sailboat.
What puzzles me is that the
motor is designated as "102cc" not as "5HP". It says "102cc" on the back. Is it different from others in any way?
Internet searching has revealed nearly nothing to me. Among the crowd of sellers offering
manuals, many offer one for "4HP/5HP/102cc". And a link on iBoats seemed to refer to the 102cc-named
motor as a 1988 product; the graphics on it fit that era. Otherwise I have found no discussion. Is it just the same as all those other 5HP out there, and Merc just hiccupped on the label for a time?
