Walker Bay Genesis G2 310 RIB

I'm thinking about a getting a new RIB dingy, my old AB has seen better days. I'm looking at the new Walker Bay Genesis G2 310 hypalon RIB and have not found any recent reviews, the old reviews were not good. Waker Bay says the G2 fixed a lot of problems they had.

Has anybody had any experience with the new G2 310 or 340?

Or what would you recommend for a new RIB?

Thanks
Tom

Re: Walker Bay Genesis G2 310 RIB

DON'T BUY WALKER BAY

I have had Caribe and AB in the past and they have been good dinghies and performed as expected, this time I tried buying a Walker Bay, I liked the double flooring and the light weight, but it comes as a cost.

After being in contact Ivan Gamez "Warranty Administrator" they offered me $300 of a new hull or $500 off a new dinghy
We have had the dinghy since it was 2 weeks old, but because we bought it with our "demo model catamaran" as a dinghy, we are not considered the first owner and that is their way out of warranty.
I can only recommend never to buy any of their products.

I have never had to repair any dinghy hull made from fiberglass or aluminum from other manufactures.

This is clearly a design fault and a weak point from the manufacturer, they just don't want to admit it, we have always only had the recommended 15 HP outboard, and never abused it.

Then on top of it, these hulls are made from a type of plastic, that only few people even know how to repair, and good luck finding any in remote places.
When cruising you need it as simple as possible

Re: Walker Bay Genesis G2 310 RIB

There's another long thread here about the WB Genesis, if you haven't seen that.

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...re-215771.html

What problems did WB admit they had -- and have now fixed with the G2 -- on the earlier version? What form did this admission take?

FWIW, we like our 310 well enough. In early days, the folding transom came in handy a few times, but then we bought a trailer for it so haven't needed that feature since.

I am not sure when G2 Started, we just saw a 2016 model this morning with cracking starting in the same 2 areas.

Re: Walker Bay Genesis G2 310 RIB

I have sued Walker Bay in Small claims court for $7000 and won. They did not show up or acknowledge the claim but they did NOT refuse delivery in Laredo of the summons so they know about it so I won by default. If they continue to ignore this an arrest warrant will be issued for Ivan Gomez, Raul Medina , Mario Martinez and Mr. Carroll in the warranty department . I have been dealing with this issue since 2011 . Everyone should know that . Try to get a hold of any of these people and they avoid you . Try to find the Corporate Headquarters and call all the numbers ...they don't work .

SHADY COMPANY at best . I urge everyone to NOT BUY WALKER BAY BOATS until they take care of the people who are having problems with the Genesis that they KNOW is defective . .
