Walker Bay 8 dagger board trunk filler?

Fabb'd up a sail kit for my WB8. Been trying to get the foam filler out of the pocket.. Bottom plate is off; but the styrofoam doesn't seem to want to movve. Is it glued in? SHould itsimply pushout? Tried gently to drive it out w/a piece of 1/2'ply; but no joy.
Use a bigger hammer?

I'd apprecite hearring from another WB owner thatt's gone thru this beforeI takethe torch toiit

TIA,
Paul

Ah, yes, I remember this. If I remember correctly, there is plastic on the bottom of the styrofoam insert and you turn the hull upside down to drive it out the top. I was too cautious and to gentle at first, afraid I would break something. Needed a very large screwdriver and a hammer and had to really hit it hard, first on one end then working my way along it striking every inch or so to the other end to break it loose and then drive it out.

Re: Walker Bay 8 dagger board trunk filler?

update;
Pulledthe keel plug and managed to pop out the soggy foam block. Discovered that the maincasting has a knock. out filler atop the trunk. A bit of a reach, so I unbolted the seat. A few quick blows with a hammer and dull chisel broke outthe price Must be what Down to these a was referencing?!

Now to finish fitting the DB and glass all the bits

I remember my ole WB8. Learned to swim while towing a swamped boat behind me, lol. Word of advice - keep that plug somewhere safe. I threw mine way when I added the sail kit. When I added a small motor, the daggerboard slot turned into a geyser under power....
