Tiller Extension

I want a tiller extension that will fit over my Suzuki 20 hp throttle, it measures slightly over 1.6” diameter, not circumference. So call it 1.75”.
I only need a foot or so, maybe 18”, but am finding it hard to find one online that will fit over the large throttle. It seems most are intended for trolling motors.
Does anyone have a suggestion for one that will fit a large throttle grip? If it can be had from Amazon, even better.

Tiller Extension

I had thought 2” PVC pipe, cut four slots so a hose clamp can clamp it down, then a reducer to a smaller pipe, put a motorcycle grip on it.
But if I can buy one, why not?

Re: Tiller Extension

1.5" PVC /w slots. Expand pipe to fit over throttle.

Re: Tiller Extension

I saw a dinghy recently with a cutoff wiffle bat as a tiller extension. Looked perfect lol

Re: Tiller Extension

I ordered the $18 on Amazon.
It would likely cost me that much or close to it to make, and I still have Boat projects to do.

Re: Tiller Extension

I found a short section of a ProFurl in a free bin down in Bocas and added a short piece of old sani-hose and a bit of PVC pipe, it works ok. The $19 job looks better.
