So I purchased a
boat that came with a hard floor
inflatable dinghy. I have mix feelings over the
dinghy because its in good shape, but I hate assembling it and storing it.
So to mitigate the issue of assembling it, I bought an
electric pump and folding it on my foredeck. I use to have the
boat sitting on my foredeck assembled, but it was an eyesore and things always got caught onto it.
So I have it disassembled with a torn up boat cover loosely covering it. I just went sailing the other day and the
jib sheet line was still catching onto the dinghy. Except this time it was pulling the dinghy off the boat.
I am considering a porta-bote or a foldable
RIB. But the foldable
RIB will still have the issue of it being stored on
deck. The Porta-bote will probably be stored on the side attached to the stanchions.
What are other options of storing a dinghy? I don't want to store it on the aft of my boat as that will be some excuse by the marina to increase the
price on me. Anything else other than storing it on the foredeck?
