Saturn Info

I don't have ajoke but for the life of me, I can't find where or how to post a question or to start a thread. I want to know if someone has experience with an inflatable dinghy brand called Saturn? Please help.

Sailalfin,
Go to the Engineering & Systems area and down at the bottom is the Aux. Equipment & Dinghy site. That would be the best place to find your info.

Good Luck,

Mike

Sailalfin,
Here's some more info I found on the Saturn Dinghy. Look on Google and put in Saturn Dinghy and you should be able to find all kind's of usful stuff.

Mike

The 11-feet SATURN SD330 inflatable boat is our BEST selling model. The SD330 will take up to a 15 HP short shaft motor and will carry up to 5 people maximum or 4 people comfortably.

The SD330 is great as a tender for yachts or sailboats. This boat can also be used as a lifesaving raft in case of an emergency.

It takes less than 5-10 minutes to inflate or deflate the SD330 boat with electric pump and adaptor. Deflated SD330 boat will fold to the size of a medium bag. Once deflated and folded, the SD330 can be easily stored in the trunk of your car.

The SD330 is great as a fishing boat. You can stand on the air floor just the same way you could stand on a plywood floor. The SD330 was tested to run nicely with electric trolling motor. This boat is the mast for RV owners.

Thanks Mike, but I'm looking for sailors with personal experience with the Saturn. I've seen the Saturn web-site but thought someone here may have had one. thanks, sailalfin

Saturn Dingy

We have a 2 year old SD330, which is the 11 foot model. It's a solid and well built craft. I have heard many at our Marina complain about the Zodiacs and others, especially the glue used on European made boats.

I think for the money (about $900 new for the 11') it's not bad at all. I do like the air floor and if properly inflated it's as good as plywood at a fraction of the weight.

As for planing I can't comment, as the little 3hp does great for puttering around but we win no races.

All in all I would recommend it for 50% less than a Zodiac or similar PVC dingy.
