This modern day pirate propels his vessel with a
dinghy of his own design and 15 HP
outboard. He built the boat/dinghy in his backyard over three years after
work and on weekends using Bueller's Backyard Boatbuilding (sic?) Arriving one morning to Princess Anne after crossing the Chesapeake without
sails (which were not quite finished) he said he didn't want to have to pay property
taxes or
registration to the state of
Maryland, and with no
motor his 41 footer is exempt! One might argue the aesthetics of the stained
plywood, but she is sturdy. Oh, his last one was 60 feet. His
anchor was one of those old fashioned hook shaped types, about four feet tall.
