Pirate dink

OK so I just came across this cool looking dinghy. Just didn't know if anyone had seen this yet. Kind of wondering about opinions on this design. It claims it's 65 pounds which is pretty light. For all those interested in the hard dink here is another option. Patrick

Re: Pirate dink

Looks like a bargain basement design and build at an inflated price.

I saw this last night, and felt let down by the lack of black sails

Re: Pirate dink

Looks similar to some others, but usually they are very heavy for their size. If it's 65# it's real thin, or the weight isn't right is my guess.

C'mon. 1000$?

Re: Pirate dink

Any chance the OP is the seller as he posted a nearly identical thread a few days back about the same boat.

Re: Pirate dink

Yes, I noticed that too - his post triggered me to check his previous 2 posts too.

I think he probably is the seller, which is funny cos asking $1,000 for that thing and hoping to sell it to cruisers ... can't help but smile

Tho as a gal, I should probably love the idea of a dinghy ride in my cotton dress and high heels, right? Might just go out and buy myself a pair of heels, for some reason I didn't bring any when moving aboard ...

Re: Pirate dink

Well I'm new to this site. And I double post it on accident. Because it's pretty much my first post. I live in Idaho and the boat is for sale in North Carolina I believe. So no this is not my boat. But thanks for the warm welcome guys. I was simply trying to throw out a boat for some people to look at on a boat forum! As always if you don't like the boat you are free not to buy it. Anyhow cheers. Patrick

Re: Pirate dink

In that case, I am sorry for jumping to conclusions. Bad habit
My apologies and ... welcome to CF, Leaving Idaho.

Re: Pirate dink

Thanks lizzy! I just thought some might find some value in this boat. I am very green at sailboating. And new to this forum so I'm still trying to figure it out. As my title says I am hoping to leave Idaho for warmer climate sometime soon.

Re: Pirate dink

I'm sure the dinghy is stable, but wonder how well it rows. Would like something like this, if I had room to stow it somewhere, the inside finish would be nicer and IF weight would be below 40.
Agree 1000$ is too much, I think I could find a similar sized RIB for that price. Will continue with the cheapo PVC inflatable dinghy next season still..

Re: Pirate dink

I'm in the Netherlands, plotting a move to the Caribbean - I could do with a little more sunshine too

These forums are huge, so finding your way can be a bit dawning at first.
If you have any questions about finding a boat, living on board or whatever, just click the "Forums" tab and find the one that fits best with your subject.

To search, click the 'Search' option in the blue bar, a little below the main menu, and look down. You'll see a Google Custom Search, that one works a lot better then the standard search.

Usually, the folks here at CF are very welcoming and friendly, and you'll find a lot of people willing to take some time to help you out
