Not sure why you mention West Marine products, as far as I can recall, Polymarine is a UK company.
I've used their products, no complaints.
What are you trying to achieve. I recently used Polymarine cleaning products on a grubby dink and it came up like new.
If you google the product name you get some reviews, some good, some not so good.
Most likely it is all in the preparation

thanks for the reply, I mention west marine because ive read on other threads about problems such as it pealing off in sheets and it staying "gummy" and coming off on your clothes.

What im trying to achieve is simply to give it a coat of paint for aesthetics. as ive stated, I was looking for fellow sailors that have bought and used the product and had good experiences.

thank you for your feedback
