Oarlock Socket Inserts

Anyone attach them permanently?

Did you bond them into the sockets, or to the oarlocks?
What did you use?

I tried using epoxy to bond them to my SS oarlocks, but it didn't hold for too long. I have a feeling if they aren't bonded somehow, they won't last much longer at all, before at least one of them take a splash.

Yup I'm talking about the nylon inserts that go in a walker bay or any larger socket to allow you to use a lock with a smaller diameter post.

Re: Oarlock Socket Inserts

That's one of the things that went first on our Walker Bay fleet after the gooseneck for the sail rig failed.
My friend and I built some sockets to fit out of teak and they have not failed in 3 boats that we've installed them on.
kind regards,
