What does hauling on deck have to do with bottom paint? Flip it over and it's dangerous to birds?

If you don't own a yacht, you must be a lot richer than us who do. (is that correct grammar?)

Just maybe it's got to do with not requiring fouling resistant paint / coating if you haul your dinghy on deck or davits. Your mast and rigging is more dangerous to birds than your dinghy.
