Inflatable Manufacturer - Financial Difficulties

Heard on the vine today that a MAJOR inflatable manufacturer has gone bankrupt. I can't seem to see this anywhere on google but have been reliably informed (or so I believe).

Has anyone heard anything? This is a big player nothing small.

Re: Inflatable Manufacturer - financial difficulties

If you're talking about Zodiac, its inflatable boat division was sold off to OpenGate Capital, LLC, which is a private investment firm which says it plans to "work closely with the existing management,...strengthen the company, and drive expansion of the brand." Avon and Bombard are also brands in this Zodiac division. You can see the press release posted on the WG site, but that's it in a nutshell.

Re: Inflatable Manufacturer - financial difficulties

Oh Boy, just what we need: another marine company turned over to the accountants and investors instead of the folks in the design office.

Can't wait to see how they further degrade what was once a great product (the old grey hand glued hypalon inflatables from the '70s).

Progress...

Cheers,

Jim
