Ideal shaft length for solid transom dinghy (Waveline 2.3M)
I got ourselves a new dinghy, a Waveline 2.3M, and looking for the ideal outboard for it. I am looking at 3-3.5HP 2 stroke outboards but need some advice on shaft length. Is it "short" or "standard" shaft I should be after?


The tube diameter of the dinghy is 37cm/14.5":

Almost certainly a "short" shaft (15") engine. Shaft length depends upon transom height.

Ask the manufacturer or check the tech specs in the manual.

It probably takes a shortshaft (15").
