When you say 1# bottles you are referring to the steel screw on ones for a camping stove or grill? I see the Magma sells the conversion for my grill so maybe I will go that route after all. Just hard to move it to the priority list right now.

Those are the ones. I suspect you will find that the pay-back period is pretty short if you use the grill regularly.

Yeah its not so much the expense of the materials to tie in the grill to the house LPG its the time to do the work. Running hose and probably drilling a hole in the deck and installing a gland etc...Will probably do it at some point though because we like to grill as much as possible and not heat up the cabin with the stove.

You could always hire a gasfitter to custom build a hose to connect your grill and main LPG tank. The same type of hose is sold at some chandlers. Magma make one 10ft long and West Marine sell one 6ft long.

Depends

Living with an avid cook, and using propane for hot water as well, consumed 20lbs per month (5 gal.)

Living alone, as currently, and mostly since 1993, 60lbs (15 gals.) per year.

This is in the Pacific Northwest, where you don't shower by jumping overboard!

A wife and two children? Better rig a tender to tow your supply.
