How do you outfit your dinghy?

Why won't a cooler still fit? We have a 10ft AB RIB and use a cooler to keep life jackets, flashlight, anchor, umbrella and the starting battery in.

You just need to fashion some way to anchor it in one place. I used some starboard and turn buckles designed for coolers.

Dockhead, a center console would be terrific but we don't think that would work with our dinghy, and we are trying to keep the weight manageable for our aft davits. We probably will end up with a bench seat/bag combo, but the one we had years ago was definitely not dry. We had to bag everything inside in dry bags, and also included our water resistant tool box.

Ebaugh, thanks for the photo. The mounts for our fuel tank are adjacent to the transom so we probably wouldn't put it under the seat, but a smaller cooler is definitely an option. I want to see one of the "stackable" coolers which might work, especially if it has handles to strap it on.

Cotemar, the ground screw anchor for a dinghy is cool. We have never drug on the beach but it would be good to have at that price since that's always a possibility. It looks similar to a dog tie down (have never used one of those) but it probably more sturdy.

There is a fabric storage unit that velcros under the middle seat. It is perfect for storing the small anchor, emergency engine spares/wrench, etc. I think West Marine sells them. Best thing I ever bought for my dingy. A tiny anchor and just a few feet of chain (if any) are fine for the dink. an old bleach bottle is the best bilge pump. You need a locking cable with a brass combo lock.

That's pretty cool...

It seems OP is concerned about getting a flat piece of floor.

Maybe cutting a piece of marine ply or other suitable board and figuring out how to anchor it to the seat to stop it sliding fore and aft.

I had the $7 Amazon plated steel one that put rust stains all over.
Now I have the $25 Stainless Steel one that last a life time.

Firstly, i will check whether equipment of my dinghy is full and safe. Then, i will prepare the buoy, battery, fuel, flashlight, anchor and umbrella.

A couple of questions, The fuel is extra or just a fuel container for the engine? Don't understand the need of a buoy or umbrella. I have never seen an umbrella on a dinghy as normal equipment. Maybe if you are headed to a store and it is to rain, generally down here we just wait or get wet.
