Hey ... SCUBA Compressor owners... Pay attention!

We recently got another small compressor from a local boat yard and it was a MESS! The boat owner was complaining of stinky air that made them sick to the stomach and they asked the yard to look into it while the boat was out for hull service.

To start with, the owner cheaped out on the compressor and went for the painted frame instead of the stainless one. So, in the salt environment, there is a ton of rust and peeling paint ... just what you want on your boat ... rust and pant chips on the deck!

But worse, the owner never bothered to check the outlet air filter so it was used up WAY beyond it's capacity. No wonder the air was stinky ... it wasn't being filtered! He was lucky to only be sickened a little.

In addition, the owner had never even changed the oil so it was way crapped up inside.

The total bill on that little $3500 compressor was almost $1800! And a couple of oil changes and filters could have headed it all off ... at a cost of about $150.

You have invested a ton of money on your boat. And also a fair amount on your compressor so that you can go scuba diving when and where you want and know the quality of the air you are getting. Why not invest a little time and very little money taking care of your stuff so it will serve you well?

Sorry for getting on my soapbox, but I hate seeing compressors come in with silly problems that could cause injury or death.
