Foldable RIB dinghy

So I've been going through the darkside of the net and finally found a foldable rib called winboat at Foldable rigid-hulled inflatable boats & sailboats | Winboat.net

Anyways, I've looked at portabote, but I don't know about it as I still value what is on the deck or on the stancheons of the boat. Do you know anybody that has a foldable RIB? Or heard of this brand before? I think its priced pretty competitively compared to other boats.

I've never heard of the brand (not that that means much), but they sure do look promising. We'll be in the market for a new RIB, and those definitely look like they could be a good option for us. Having a true RIB that can be stored below decks if necessary sounds pretty handy.

Re: Foldable RIB dinghy

Yeah, I currently have a inflatable with a hard floor. Its in good shape so its really hard to convince my wife to want to get a new dinghy. I had the dinghy on my foredeck inflated, but it always got in the way when I wanted to go to the foredeck to change lines, etc.

So now I deflated it, rolled it up tight, and tied it down on my foredeck by the mast, which is a lot nicer. I want to get this boat so that I can do the same without having to put together a hard floor every time we want to use it.

Just got to convince the wife that's all.

I like the sail boat version, especially the photo of the skipper trying and apparently failing to flip it.Winboat F460 Sailboat | Winboat.net

I think about the only RIB I've found that's less expensive is the Walker Bay Superlight. Seems like most PVC RIBs are in the $3k-$3500 range and Hypalon boats are more like $5k.
