Felt Fender Covers

Does anyone have any idea where you can purchase Hunter Green Felt Fender Covers? Does anyone know of someone who makes them? I would like to have two to four made or purchased and then personalized.

We bought ours through Cape Hatteras Marine.. They have held up well.

Thanks, I have looked there but seems everyone has gone away from Hunter Green....hate to settle for Beige.

Interesting.....I just watched the video on how to make your own covers.....the beige is light enough and would work well with the hunter green and beige on the boat. Thanks for the heads up on that.

I make my own fender covers with fleece (anti pill), purchased from Joann Fabrics on sale. Cheap project and works very well. Usually several colors to choose from.

I'll start the argument. Fender covers look great (especially at the beginning), but will, over time end up with sand in the cloth.

This means you now have a wonderfully large piece of sandpaper, grinding away at your gelcoat, when you use them.

I don't recommend them since I like my gelcoat shiny

Ah yes, tamif27, I seem to have heard of that particular item. Unfortunately, I don't have one on my boat (yes I do have one in my house and even know how to use it - but the I have to take the fender covers off, wash them and remount).

I guess I'm just lazy (no comments please!) and get by with the plastic

Cheap fleece sweat pants from Walmart work as well and have half the elastic already sewn in! Trick is to find them in the right color.

We make ours the same way also. Never put the fenders out to come in and dock, They are always on the dock an ready. No Worries

I also wanted the hunter green or beige. I ended up going to Hanck Fabrics in Williamsburg and found nice beige fleece. I have already made one....five more to go but they are super easy to sew with a regular sewing machine.
You can put elastic in one side and then some thin cording that can be tied up in the other side. Makes them easily removable and washable.

All six can be made for the purchase price of one!

I think it may be either my age, or the age of the boat......but in all honesty I've never even thought about covering the fenders. They serve their purpose as is, but then again, lipstick on a pig (No offense intended to those who want fender covers)
