I personally think if you buy a soft dingy you should just figure you rented it for 5 years but a hard dink and you have it a lifetime... I have a 13 foot skiff with a 25 hp 4 stroke Suzuki I like Getting somewhere once anchored and one trip to provision.
My vote goes to fiberglass never a blow up

I agree, but 5 years is a very low estimate. We had our first RIB for 12 years and our current one is still like new at five, but I do agree that the solid fiberglass dinghy will last longer; however, it doesn't suit me for stability and payload.
