Diesel RIB Tenders . . . The Holy Grail ?

Hi.... I found this Diesel Yacht Tender but I guess it is just too heavy for a 45-50 Catamaran eh ? At 1,300lbs it would need to be half the weight and probably half the cost ... but it is pretty cool.... I would really like to have a Diesel Dinghy/tender... anyone know of such a thing for small boats ?

The advantage of Diesels is their efficiency but not their horsepower to weight ratio. It seems like the wrong application for a dinghy where you want minimal weight but do not use it so much that fuel efficiency becomes a big consideration.

My concern is more around safety... I hate the idea of carry a jerry can of Gasoline on the boat.... I guess if one is always around a marina and can fill it up there, than it is not a big deal.... but was thinking it would be great to refill the tender from the main tanks ....

I think one of the Japanese outboards is diesel. Google. Some run on kerosene - designed for Asia pacific islands.
