Can you deflate your Dinghy everynight to store?

just heft it up onto your deck and lock all components to it and to boat.

it will deflate self at will anyway.

We lift ours on the spinny pole and we lock it with the lock at our mast.
Two thefts near here this year, one in La Cruz and the one in Mantchen Bay, plus one attempt in Punta Mita. They found the La Cruz dinghy on the beach and they found the outboard in Punta Mita. I think the Mantchen Bay theft was from Flying Dragon, the junk that landed on the beach a couple weeks ago.

there were enough dink thefts in mazatlan to have port cpt close the old harbor and stone island anchorages at night.....i lock my rowing dink to my boat there..in la cruz i didnt lock my rowing dink, but it is undesirable..lol....here in zihuatenejo, life rocks--no thefts here--awesome place.

Obviously one should hoist the dinghy out of the water every evening ( given one is sober enough to remember ...) To keep the bottom clean ...

But for theft prevention you should do this: deflate it, roll it up, stow it, sail to someplace more civilized.

I have the same motive for always washing the dishes in the evening when at anchor. I don't want to sail with dirty plates in the galley sink or the dinghy on the foredeck.

If I had to deflate and stow each night, by the third night I would cut it adrift and do without. Not a joke.

if i had to deflate and stow a dink nightly there would be a change in something....there is no need to deflate and stow nightly. placing dinghy on your deck, with engine and dink both locked to boat is going to deter all thieves except those in mazatlan. they were the only ones boarding boats in mexico to steal dinghies. that anchoprage is closed to night anchoring.

I have a slight variation on this topic. I'm looking at dinghy for occasional use ( just a couple gof treks on the reat lakes 1 week trips annually or so) with storage in our garage over winter. Relatively inexpensive and stowable would be great. Only need a small trolling motor if any. Would like to be able to deflate and stow on our Tartan 34 for longer sails (by longer I mean "all day" or an overnight if getting really adventurous ...no real passage making)

I looked at the Seylor K85 linked earlier in this thread but would welcome other brand/model recommendations.
