Block system for a new dinghy davit system

This past week on the cruisers net here in Grenada I picked up a pair of dinghy davits for 2 cases of Stag beer. I then had them attached to the boat by a very good local welder. I am now needing to put the block and tackle together to pull up the dinghy. I have an AB, approximately 150#, 5 HP Yamaha, 60#, dinghy anchor and fuel. Total weight maybe 250 tops 300#.
So what recommendation for a block configuration? Double or triple block on top and bottom? Triple on bottom and double on top? One pulley is already built into the davit. It needs to be easy enough for either my wife or I to lift the dinghy. I would like to buy the gear only once, they are expensive. Thoughts, Dave

For a single tackle system, I’d recommend a pair of 6:1 purchase, triple blocks.
For twin tackles, I recommend 4:1, (2 pairs) double blocks.

Re: Block system for a new dinghy davit system

Currently I have been thinking of using twin set of blocks, attached to a sling in the bow and stern of dinghy.

I changed to a sort of dingy mainsheet tackle...

... and really like it. The ability to cam-cleat the line is nice. Not cheap, but good for the back an arthritis in the fingers. Even a child can work it. We do have horn cleats to back-up the cam cleats underway.
