Bad Idea: Regular ammo in flare guns
Apparently bright bulb thought up the idea of sleeving a plastic flare gun to take regular ammo. I suppose it's one way to get a weapon aboard and be a little further under the radar. However they did not come up with a way to reinforce the flare gun to accommodate backward gas pressure.

Nothing more American than injuring yourself with a firearm that you keep telling you is there to protect you.

This way when the evil narco cartel operators come to rape and pillage your boat at nights (happens constantly here) you're protected though.

Nearly as effective as a grenade and comes in a choice of colors. Exellent choice for the stylish cruiser.

Re: Bad Idea: Regular ammo in flare guns
Lets clear things up, 1st You dont use a plastic flare gun, only a idiot would do that. 2nd The best of these ammo sleeves are metal and fire .38 caliber, a shotgun shell is a little much. These facts sure take the danger out of it, but I'm betting this thread is mostly gun haters. I'm not crazy about guns, buy also I dont mind them, and wouldnt want anyone to limit my ability to have one.

+ 1 RabidRabbit on the right to keep and bear. Eric, don't you know it, La Cruz is just crawling with unsavory characters, lol. I noticed a very large snap trap under Rebel Hearts steps a couple of weeks ago, any luck? Hope Charlotte +1 and Cora are well

Perhaps you could just leave one lying around in the hopes that an assailant might try to use it on you? Then it might actually work as intended...

Don't currently own a fire arm but enjoy shooting. Have been hunting and expect to again in the future, though not anytime soon. Amusement with "Stupidity with Firearms" does not equate with hating or even disliking firearms, unless your real name is Wayne LaPierre.

Too bad, already limited, as the link says the ATF has determined them to be "Any Other Weapon" requiring approval and registration under the NFA.

Re: Bad Idea: Regular ammo in flare guns
From the photos of the damaged flare guns, it looks like the recoil is what knocked the guns apart; the barrels aren't shown to be damaged. I wonder how many shots it took before "eventual destruction" was achieved. Two? Twenty? Not a very detailed description of the testing, I'd say.

Nothing more idiotic, regardless of ethnicity, than using a tool not designed for the job -- and without any experience. People who injure themselves with firearms are idiots. They should stay far away from guns. A sleeved flare gun? "cough"
By the way, those that don't know how to hide a firearm on a vessel so that it cannot be detected probably also have difficulty with opening jars of mayonnaise.
That, and chewing gum while walking.

That's right, blame Jesus. Poor bugger gets blamed for everything of late.
Though he's getting a little respite from Muhammad.
