Adhesives for PVC dingy repair

Anyone have any data/experience for choosing an adhesive to repair my inflatable PVC floor to tube joint. It's a West marine sport boat with plywood floor. Need to make a strong bond at the first try.

I found one manufacture, "Royal" (seems to include Clifton) which published a peel test result for their LA4123 but did not find any other data to compare with.

Defender industries sell a 2 part (Packaged by Polymarine, UK) which looks like it is made by a different UK company called Appollo. Appollo havn't responded yet to my question for test data.

Inflatable boat repair carry a 2 part, packaged by Weaver which looks like its the same as the Polymarine/Appollo adheasive!

Soooo; anyone got any info or alternate repair ideas?

Regards

Eric

No alternates, except.... It's my experience to use (a) a two-part adhesive (b) that's recommended for PVC. I think they're all OK. None of the one-part adhesives are any good for inflatables work.

Re: Adhesives for PVC dingy repair

I'm sure you are dead right, I had three goes to repair the tube under the floor (forms the vee shape). Now I'm wondering if I can insert / pour in, something firm like expanded foam to fill the tube to retain the shape, anyone any ideas?

I have used Cliftons PVC two part glue, available from Jacks Plastic Welding online. I've had good results gluing a floor back on and a variety of other repairs. Also available from Jacks, get some strips of new PVC fabric to overlap the glue joints, particularly if you are regaling a floor on.

HH-66 has a good reputation
Look in the archives. Inexpensive

Re: Adhesives for PVC dingy repair

I am currently having success with my West Marine/Zodiac floor using Shower Pan Liner and Oatey's Shower Pan Liner Adhesive. Believe it or not! (less than $30 for both)

I previously tried HH66, 5200, blah blah blah. They all broke loose quite quickly.

With my fingers crossed I'm happily dinghying my way back to the boat
