AC questions

1st, Ocean Breeze 20k BTU unit wouldn't fire up this season. I found the freeze control switch had failed. It's running bypassed for now, is it okay to just leave this bypassed? (catamaran in Florida, rarely below 80 degrees with AC)

2nd, Any ideas for insulating the ductwork? I am using a combination of 2" and 4" flexible marine duct. Some of it goes across the rear storage compartment/steering and the air is considerably warmer after passing through that area.

Thanks

Tom

Re: AC questions

I can't help you with your first question but you can get insulated flexible duct from Aqua Air in Hialeah Florida. They have the 4" but the smallest they carry is 3". Maybe you could run your 2" through a piece of the 3" insulated duct. I would think that anyone who sells marine air conditioning equipment could supply the insulated duct. Here is a link to Aqua Air Aqua-Air Marine Air Conditioning Systems for Yachts of all Sizes
