Wire rope/stays from Korea, What to Think?

Hi there,

So in my quest for 7x7 galvanized wire rope for my standing rigging, I've found a source that had it in store in my desired diameter. It's the Belgian fishing federation, also supplying the cables for commercial fishingships and industry. The price is 89€ for 100m of 8mm cable, a bargain, but fairly logical seeing their main clientele aren't those filthy rich yachties .

Anyway, long story short, the cable is produced in Korea. An asian country, but not China... What can be said about the quality of the stuff coming out of Korea? Any trustworty?

I have Korean stainless standing rigging about 4 years old, no complaints yet. Most Korean products are reasonably good quality AFIK.

Think of Korea as the new Japan, by that I mean it wasn't that long ago that Japanese products were though of as junk, but then I guess maybe around the 70's? That changed and by the 90's Japanese made anything was thought to mean high quality.
I think Korea is Japan of the 70's, but I only lived there for one year and that was 14 years or so ago at that.
Said another way, don't discount anything just because it is sourced form Korea.

Japanese products have not been considered junk in my lifetime. As a matter of fact, we were once ascared because they seemed to be overtaking us in manufacturing quality, as well as literally moving into our territory.
