What is good USA source of mail-order standing rigging?

Hello everyone

I need to replace some shrouds and want to measure myself and buy them mail order.

Do you have any good or bad experience with Rigging Only (www.rigging only.com) or Defender? IS there any other vendor I should consider?

Thanks in advance for the wisdom.

I used Rigging Only.
They were excellent.
Experienced, knowledgeable, patient, technical support before and after purchase of the rigging.

I could not Imagine a better company to deal with.

Cheers,
JM.

I bought mine last November from Sailing Services out of Miami Fl. Their web site is Sailing Services - Rigging, Lifelines, Winches, Furling Systems, Supplies, Ropes. They actually delivered them 5 days ahead of their promised date. They also do roller swaging of their swage fittings rather than compression which is often what you get from small shops. The price was reasonable too. They were recommended to me by a local rigger because none of the local guys could swage my 3/8 shrouds. All of the pieces were spot on in their measurements. He said that he would have sent the measurements to them and had them make them anyway. Also he would have taken a Six weeks just to get out to take the measurements because of previous commitments. I had the mast unstepped and took the measurements myself. I sent them the measurements on Weds and they promised me they would ship by the next Friday and shipping to NC would take 2 days. So I should expect them the following Monday or Tuesday. They also went over each measurement with me on the phone to make sure I had measured them correctly. They actually shipped the Friday after I ordered them and Arrived on Tuesday. Seldom I have I experienced such service in the marine industry.

Can second Sailing Services - used to do biz when I had beach catamarans.

These days I've been doing biz with Stix-n-Rig'n out of Houston, TX. Kevin is great to work with and they're closer to me for shipping purposes

I have had very good experience with "rigging only". Prices were always considerably less than "Worst Marine" and the quality is above good.

Re: What is good USA source of mail-order standing rigging?

I used Rigging only. Best price I could find. Rigging Only swagged on the masthead ends and I used Haynes Hi Mod fittings to finish the turnbuckle ends. My first experience doing this. It was easy. I had to re-cut a couple that I left too long after the stretching was done and that process with the Hi Mod fittings was easy as well.

Don't forget West Marine they will quote you and usually price match. Full guaranteed as well. People cal them expensive but those folks usually 'settle' rather than expect the best.

Re: What is good USA source of mail-order standing rigging?

3 days ago I e-mailed my mizzen rigging list to 3 suppliers for quotes. Rigging Only confirmed my request within an hour, and quoted within 3 hrs. Price was better than their online catalog showed. They will get the job. BTW, still no acknowledgement from the other 2.
