What brand hatch is this?

Hello all
I need to replace the pins on this hatch. They seem to be made from some kind of plastic and quite a few are broken.

Can I replace these with stainless or aluminium? I can turn them up myself.

What brand is this hatch? It is quite heavy and appears to be cast aluminium.

Again, thank you very much for your assistance.

Re: What brand hatch is this?

The logo looks like the old Goïot one.

I would avoid putting stainless parts in contact with light alloy, so I would consider aluminium pins.

That’s a Goiot Systems hatch (by the gull logo).

Oops, Alain beat me to it.

Re: What brand hatch is this?

I did not see the down latch handles. These are normally fasten from under the hatch frame and if they leak you have to remove the entire hatch to fix them. One way to avoid doing that twice is to cut your own screws (I think they are #8) from a rod and then fasten them from inside the boat. I did it and if I need to remove one or 2 handles I can do it without removing the frame. Good luck, these are great hatches!

Re: What brand hatch is this?

Hi Felipe

I am sorry but Im not sure I understand what you mean by down latch handles. There are no moving handles, if thats what you mean.

These are battened down by 4 knobs pulling down on "T" pins. See pic.

These are indeed great hatches...and heavy! Nearly smashed my fingers when the stays slipped and the hatch came crashing down. 😲
I wonder why they used hard plastic pins in the first place...

Cheers

Re: What brand hatch is this?

Hello again.

Not sure if I should start a new thread but I need help (again) to identify these opening ports.

There are 10 on the boat and all but 2 have broken hinges.

Can you please help me source the hinges? To make them is a bit beyond my capabilities. 😕

Thanks very much to a wonderful and helpful forum.

Re: What brand hatch is this?

You'd be better off just updating this hatch.
The manufacturer is probably out of business if it's that old.
